1950's Pottery Cockatoo Wall Plate from Germany

Talk about your terrible 'Toos! For this pair are terribly cute, terribly charming and terribly successful at making you smile. Hatched in the 1950's, they come to us directly from Germany and are perched on the front of a red clay pottery plate. The Cockatoos are hand painted in majolica glazes with outlined details that are raised up from the charger, giving them a bit of presence (as if those faces weren't enough!) Measures 9 7/8" in diameter and is in excellent condition, with a wire on the back for hanging. Marked with a perched bird logo (maybe a raptor) on the back, a mark I have been unable to identify. Perfect for the crested creature connoisseur, you'll love it, we're sure!
