Wooden socket head, molded, painted features; closed mouth, painted blue intaglio eyes with white highlights on the upper section, sparse original mohair wig remains nailed to head.
The head has wear and paint scrapes as shown and inspection under black light reveals no re-paint..
The body has typical wear and is in fine working order with many possibilities for posing. The oval label on the upper back torso reads: “SCHOENHUT DOLL // Pat. Jan. 17th 1911 // U. S. A.”
The doll wears the original one-piece undergarment which is missing a lower bone button, and also comes with a possibly original pale blue and white striped shirt with ribbed pique sailor collar (missing buttons) and blue serge short pants.
We have priced this doll well under book value for a doll in fair condition ($750-$900).
